Residential Toilet Rebate Program

The following water supply utilities in the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District are offering their customers an incentive to replace their older, inefficient toilets:

  • City of Atlanta Watershed Dept.
  • Cherokee County WSA
  • Clayton County Water Authority
  • Coweta County WSA
  • City of Dallas
  • Fayette County Water System
  • Fulton County Dept. of Public Works
  • Gwinnett County Water Resources
  • City of Hapeville
  • Henry County Water and Sewer Authority
  • City of Roswell

Note: Rebates are limited and will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. Funding is still available if your water utility's name is listed above.

Customer Eligibility

Qualifications to receive a toilet rebate:

  1. Have an individual residential account with a participating water utility in the District and be up to date on your billing payments.
  2. Own or rent a single-family residential home built in 1993 or earlier (this will be verified).
  3. Purchase an approved toilet after September 28, 2007 to replace an older toilet using greater than 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf).
  4. Agree to an installation verification visit to ensure your efficient toilets have been installed.
  5. Agree to complete a program participation survey.

Who is not eligible:

  1. Customers who have already received a rebate from a participating water utility.
  2. Customers of utilities who are not participating in the program.
  3. Customers who own or rent a single-family home built after 1993.
  4. Customers who purchased a toilet before September 28, 2007.
  5. Customers who currently have a 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf) or less toilet.
  6. Customers living in a multi-family residence or non-residential customers.

Rebate Information

There is a limit of two (2) toilet rebates per household. There are two rebate options:

  1. Option 1: Purchase a toilet on the $50.00 rebate approved toilet list. These toilets use 1.6 gpf or less, received a score of at least 350 grams per flush on the Maximum Performance Test, and received a sustainability rating from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
  2. Option 2: Purchase a toilet on the $100.00 rebate approved toilet list. These toilets use 1.28 gpf or less and have received the WaterSense certification.

The rebate does not pay for Georgia sales tax, accessories, installation parts, or installation costs. The rebate is only applicable to approved toilets purchased after September 28, 2007. Approved applicants will receive a confirmation letter within 30 days and their rebate within 2 billing cycles after their application is approved. Other programs may be offered by each individual water utility. Please contact your local water utility to inquire about these programs.

Application Instructions

  1. Download the application or call (404) 463-8645 to request a copy be mailed to you.
  2. Mail your completed signed application, original receipt for the new toilet purchased, and a copy of your most recent water bill to:

  3. You should receive a letter in the mail within 30 days confirming your application was received and that your rebate is being processed.
  4. You should receive your rebate within 2 billing cycles. If after 2 billing cycles you still have not received your rebate, contact your local water provider.
