Residential Water Audits
Water Conservation Action No. 7 – Conduct residential water audits.
This measure requires water providers to conduct residential water audits. The largest 25 percent of water users should be targeted to evaluate water savings measures, and audits should be made available to customers who complain about high water bills.
The District has developed a “Do It Yourself Household Water Assessment” to assist water providers with residential water audits. The assessment includes:
- Analyzing how much water you use
- Detecting leaks (pipes, toilets, faucets)
- Checking for and using water-efficient appliances
- Outdoor water use
- Changing your water use habits
